Annemiek ter Heijne and Adriaan Mels are the Chairs of Environmental Technology.
Annemiek's research focuses on Microbial Electrochemical Technologies, in which microorganism interact with electrodes. These Microbial Electrochemical Technologies can be used to recover valuable resources, like nutrients, metals and energy, from wastewater.
Adriaan's research focuses on water and wastewater technologies and on systems engineering for (urban) circularity.
