Water-fit-for-use and aqueous waste stream treatment

About this expertise
In short- Secure reliable water supply from diverse feedstocks
- Valorize or minimize aqueous waste streams
- Cut treatment costs through efficient hybrid separation systems
- Stay compliant with strict discharge and micropollutant regulation
- Contribute to your circular economy and water–food–energy goals
Industries face stricter regulations, rising treatment costs and water scarcity while dealing with complex aqueous waste streams. Our expertise ensures water-fit-for-use and turns waste into valuable resources.
From food and biobased industries, to energy and chemical sectors, many processes depend on reliable, high-quality water while generating side streams that are costly to treat or dispose of. Traditional treatments are energy-intensive and often miss opportunities for reuse or valorisation. We develop integrated separation and purification strategies to meet these challenges.
We design cascaded or hybrid systems using pressure, osmotic, thermal, or electro-membrane processes to produce water-fit-for-use (e.g. process, irrigation, boiler, or ultrapure water). At the same time, we minimize waste streams through concentration, contaminant removal, or even destruction of micropollutants such as pharmaceuticals, PFAS or crop protection agents. In many cases, valuable by-products such as nutrients (ammonia, nitrate, phosphate) and salts can be recovered for reuse in circular applications.
With technologies proven from lab to demo scale, we help industries reduce costs, comply with regulations, and achieve water security while contributing to the circular economy and the water–food–energy nexus.
