The Lighthouse Farm Academy is a blended programme that combines an online component with an immersive on-site experience, called the Lighthouse Farm Lab. It adheres to the highest academic standards while grounding learning in real-world farm practices.

Using the concepts of scaling up, scaling deep, and scaling wide, the programme provides examples and science-based insights to help you make informed decisions and drive real change in the industry. You will gain the knowledge and experience needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities of sustainable farming.

Online Component

During this series of courses, you will learn the fundamentals of the Lighthouse Farm concepts and gain an understanding of key methodologies, tools, and approaches. The online component consists of four modules, accompanied by readings, self-tests, and cohort-based discussion groups:

• Stories of Lighthouse Farms
• Indicators of Success
• Beyond Sustainability / Five Shades of Green
• Transitions

Lighthouse Farm Lab – Field Trip

After completing the mandatory online component, you will take part in the highlight of the programme: the Lighthouse Farm Lab. This five-day immersive field trip takes place at the Lighthouse Farm most relevant to your professional context.

You will experience best practice in action at an already successful, financially viable, and sustainable farm that operates in and with the global food system.
