Optimal reduced-order control applied to sterilization

Sterilization is a dynamically complicated process. It requires product quality, sterilization requirements and energy consumption to be balanced. Based on three types of models that describe the sterilization of meat stored in cans, ranging from simple to sophisticated, digital optimal reduced-order controllers will be designed and applied. This will provide information on what may be gained from applying digital optimal reduced-order control in combination with sophisticated first principles state-space models that contain a large number of states.
