Angelica – Freelance Communications & Project Manager

Prior to doing the MME program, I did a BA in Sociology and worked for 5 years, first at a brand design studio in Toronto (my home city) and then as a freelance communications manager. I took the Consumer Studies focus because it matched my background in marketing and branding, but also because I was interested in the (big) role consumers play in transitioning to more sustainable societies. This program gave me the expertise to switch my career to be focused on marketing for food sustainability, consumption habits and (from my thesis topic) circular economies. It also improved my research skills immensely, and I can now offer research as one of my freelance services. Wageningen has a great reputation, also in Canada, and I have been able to meet so many interesting people and businesses who are working to make food and consumer habits more sustainable.
