Your job
Are you astute, analytical and do you have a nose for improving processes? As a Business Analyst, you are the link between the business and IT. You analyze business processes and translate stakeholder needs into clear solutions. With your insights, you help the organization to work smarter, more efficiently and more customer-oriented.
Your tasks and responsibilities as a business analyst are:
- Understanding the wishes and requirements of the business by clarifying the customer questions and, together with architects and developers, defining the most optimally suitable solution direction for the demand of the business;
- Supporting good decision-making by making impact analyses and business cases;
- Modeling and analyzing business goals, customer journeys, business and information processes, information models and business architecture;
- Supporting Product Owners by further developing the user stories and associated acceptance criteria.
Your team
The business analyst team of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is primarily responsible for analyzing and translating business needs into sustainable and efficient solutions at the intersection of processes, information provision and IT. The team acts as a connecting link between the organization and IT, with the aim of improving processes, supporting digital initiatives and contributing to a future-proof business/information architecture. By listening carefully to the needs of users and stakeholders, and translating them into clear advice and concrete proposals, the team helps to achieve WUR's strategic goals.
Your qualities
You have the following competencies and skills:
- Analytical skills: You are able to understand complex processes and identify areas for improvement;
- Strong communication skills: You communicate clearly with various stakeholders at all levels;
- Connecting: You work effectively with various disciplines to realize joint solutions;
- Process optimization: You have experience in improving business processes and working methods;
- Flexible and environmentally aware: You adapt quickly to changes and respond proactively to new developments.
You also have:
- HBO/WO working and thinking level in business administration, information management or similar, with strong expertise in business architecture and process analysis;
- Experience in analyzing and optimizing business processes, using methods such as BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma and business architecture principles (such as BIZBOK);
- Excellent communication skills, with experience in advising both operational teams and management;
- Experience with agile working methods (SCRUM) and working effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
This is where you will work
Within our IT department – with 200 enthusiastic professionals – we work in multidisciplinary teams on themes such as digitization, self-service, security, data management, high performance computing and cloud strategy. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive salary of at least € 4,374.- to a maximum of € 7,068.- for a full working week of 36 hours in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Wageningen Research (scale 11/12). An appointment of 32 hours is negotiable. We offer you an appointment based on your current contract.
