Your role

As a financial controller, you will have plenty of room to develop yourself and actively contribute to strategic and organisation-wide projects. You will proactively support colleagues within Finance & Control, as well as management and the executive board, while engaging with various internal and external stakeholders.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Acting as an advisor and primary point of contact within the Finance & Control department for financial controlling activities (budgeting, forecasting, multi-year trends, liquidity planning, reporting to groups) at the WFBR level.
  • Serving as an advisor and sparring partner for staff departments within AFSG.
  • Analysing financial risks, supporting improvement projects, and providing recommendations.
  • Actively collaborating with direct colleagues, contributing to knowledge sharing and strengthening team spirit.
  • Contributing to the preparation of cost price calculations for tariff determinations and audit procedures.
  • Helping to further professionalise the Finance & Control function within an organisation that plays a key role in addressing major societal challenges.

The team

As an enthusiastic and driven financial controller, you will join the Finance & Control AFSG team. This team includes project control, business control, and sales & acquisition control, and consists of more than 20 professionals.

Your qualities

  • A completed bachelor’s degree (HBO) in a relevant field (e.g., Accountancy, Business Economics).
  • At least 3 years of work experience within a large, complex organisation.
  • A customer-oriented, hands-on mindset with strong communication skills; a team player who builds connections.
  • A results-driven, solution-oriented, creative, proactive, and initiative-taking attitude.
  • Experience with Power BI is a strong advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively; you meet deadlines set by the planning & control cycle.
  • A collaborative mindset, both within your own team and with colleagues from other departments.
  • Strong verbal and written command of both Dutch and English.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €3.399,- and €5.478,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10). Additionally, For this role a contract for <> hours can be discussed. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance. / We offer you a temporary contract for the duration of one year.
