Omnia is the conference centre of Wageningen University & Research and is situated at a prominent spot on Wageningen campus in the heart of the FoodValley. It is the symbol of knowledge exchange, innovation, and cooperation on sustainable solutions in the agrifood domain. This impressive building provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge from different perspectives and disciplines. It acts as a bridge between academia and society, encouraging dialogue and cooperation.

What does Omnia offer you?

Omnia offers spaces for in-depth and open conversation with partners, stakeholders, and society. Omnia is available for symposia, conferences, debates, round table conversations, promotions, workshops, receptions, and other events. Groups can go there to exchange interests, perspectives, knowledge, and ideas around the global issues we face as a society.

The guest experience is paramount at Omnia.

Omnia is characterised by the wide range of rooms available. With flexible layout options, the rooms can be adapted to specific wishes and needs. In addition, the smaller meeting rooms and break-out spaces are great for more interactive discussions, brainstorming sessions, or informal meetings. For large-scale events, Omnia offers the spacious podium and auditorium with adjoining foyer spaces. View the brochure and discover the endless possibilities Omnia has to offer.

Sustainable location

Omnia is gas-free and all electricity at WUR is green and CO2 neutral. Omnia's roof is completely covered with sedum and the surrounding wet nature garden contributes to biodiversity on Wageningen Campus. This makes Omnia an explicit sustainable location.

The restaurant Novum

Besides promoting knowledge exchange, cooperation and innovation, Omnia also offers a place to get together and enjoy the food served in the restaurant Novum, located in Omnia. Restaurant Novum is the culinary testing ground of circular agriculture where the transition is in full focus. Sourcing differently. Composing differently. Preparing differently. This leads to tasty and beautiful dishes with minimal CO2 impact.

The choice of the name 'Novum' is therefore not without meaning: Novum refers to the surprising and innovative nature of ingredients, products, and various preparation methods on the menu. But the name also refers to the entourage and table conversations that take place at Novum. And good table talks lead to new insights. This makes Novum the culinary meeting place on Wageningen campus.

Restaurant Novum is facilitated by Hutten. 'The comparable ambitions between WUR and Hutten, in the field of sustainability and making impact, were the starting point of our cooperation,' says Frits Kok of Hutten.

'What makes the menu of restaurant Novum so special is that it uses products and ingredients developed by Wageningen start-ups and by the experimental farm Unifarm. Together with Hutten, we work on the menu every day and, hence, connections have been made with Unifarm, our start-ups on Wageningen Campus, and other experimental farms elsewhere in the country', says Chris van Kreij, manager of Omnia. Chris explains that 'if there is a congress on protein transition the snacks provided will fit the theme. If a student organisation has a specific dinner requirement with a set budget, we start the discussion and make sure something beautiful is put on the table. This signifies that the cooperation with Hutten and its employees is crucial.' The facilities offered by Restaurant Novum can act as a seamless complement to Omnia's substantive programme.
