Els Siebelink is coordinator controlled dietary trials & Research Dietician at the Health Research Unit, of the Division of Human Nutrition and Health.  Her expertise is advising, designing and calculating of (semi)controlled diets and challenge studies. Supervising the preparation and performance of dietary trials. Coaching PhD’s, students and other employees to perform the trials according to the requirements of the specific trial and to work in the facilities according to guidelines based on HACCP. Within the team of Dietary Assessment and Eating Behavior participating in projects to develop new tools like an APP and supervise and train personnel to assure standardized performance of the methods in food consumption surveys.
Within the study Nutrition and Health supporting in practice and guidance of the European Study trip and some other practical courses.
During her career at the Division of Human Nutrition and Health she participated in many projects among which at least 15 fully dietary controlled trials, dietary interventions like the Bellyfat study, several studies on satiety and eating behaviour and food consumption studies. Current projects: supporting in different trials performed at the unit. Portion Online, an online database with information on portion sizes to be used by professionals in the field of dietary assessment together with the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment and the Netherlands Nutrition Center.
