dr. KSE (Karolina) Doughty

Karolina Doughty (PhD in Geog. from Uni. of Southampton, UK) is Assistant Professor and PhD Coordinator in the Cultural Geography group. She is a human geographer examining interactions between place and wellbeing, with a particular interest in interactions with nature and soundscapes. She uses qualitative, ethnographic and audio-visual methods in her research, but frequently collaborates on projects with mixed methods approaches. She has published widely on topics such as therapeutic landscapes, geographies of sound, and everyday mobilities. Recent publications can be found on Google Scholar, Research Gate or Academia.edu. 

Karolina is an editorial board member of the journal Emotion, Space and Society.

She is interested in supervising students and developing research collaborations on the following topics:

• wellbeing, place, landscape
• sound, place, and experience 
• wellbeing and tourism spaces/practices
• tourism soundscapes 
• audio-visual and mobile methodologies
