Biografie
Michiel de Haas is an economic historian of modern Africa. His work focuses on migration, inequality agricultural development, food security and primary commodity trade, with a regional emphasis on central-east Africa, Uganda in particular. He holds a bachelor's master’s degree from Utrecht University, and a PhD from Wageningen University (allcum laude). Currently he is an associate professor at Wageningen University. He holds an affiliation with Makerere University (Kampala). He is an editor of the journal Economic History of Developing Regions.
