Als kwantitatief geneticus heb ik ervaring opgedaan met QTL-mapping, genoom-wijde associatie studies, imputatie van genotypes, en genomic selection voor een breed scala aan kenmerken en gebruikmakend van verschillende hoeveelheden DNA-merkers; van SNP-chips tot volledige DNA sequentie data. Op het moment richt ik me vooral op het optimaliseren van het gebruik van DNA sequentie data in de fokkerij, met een focus op structurele variatie en chromosomale afwijkingen.

In de fokkerij zijn we nergens zonder fenotypes, daarom ben ik ook betrokken bij precision phenotyping projects, o.a., endocriene vruchtbaarheid kenmerken en objectieve locomotion scoring met behulp van sensors.

  Membership of Editorial Board of the Journal of Dairy Science for the periods 2021-2023 and 2023-2026. My duties comprise serving as reviewer for the Genetic and Genomics section of Journal of Dairy Science, reviewing at least 10 papers per year for this journal and assisting the section editor where needed.

  Lead the Journal of Dairy Science Communications Genetics section within the journal scope and manage the review of submissions to the Genetics section of Journal of Dairy Science Communications.
