dr.ir. J (Jan) van der Lee

Jan has over 30 years of technical expertise and working experience in the dairy sector in particular and in farm advice, microfinance, and food security in general. Building on his ability to gain an overview in complex situations and on many years of field experience in Southeast Asia and East Africa, he is particularly versed in the design and planning of socio-economic interventions in the livestock sector. His focus is on sustained change – be it in production systems or in supportive innovation systems. In 2020 he completed a PhD thesis on commercialization of dairy farming systems in East Africa.
