Biografie

Biografie

During my Bachelor and Master Biology at the Wageningen University I got interested in aquatic animals. This interest resulted in two Master theses at the Aquaculture & Fisheries Group of the Wageningen University. In the first thesis I studied the feeding behaviour of common sole (Solea solea). For the second thesis I went to Norway (Institute of Marine Research) and studied the stress response of gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata).

After my Master, I started as a PhD-candidate at the Wageningen University. My PhD is part of the TripleP@Sea project and is a collaboration between the Aquaculture & Fisheries Group and Wageningen Marine Research. Focus of my PhD is on sustainability issues of Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) systems, by investigating processes and pathways involved in nutrient retention and studying the effect of different factors on nutrient retention efficiencies of these systems. More information can be found on the following website: https://www.wur.nl/en/show/Goods-and-services-of-integrated-multi-troph….

Since 2019 I started a post-doc in shrimp nutrition and performance. Main projects will focus on improving attractability, palatability and digestibility of shrimp diets.
