Biografie

Biografie

Soundarya Karamcheti is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Food Micobiology Laboratory, Wageningen University and Research, Netherlands. She is working on predictive model developmet for controlling microbial contaminants in plant-based foods. She received a PhD in Food Science at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand in 2022. Her expertise is in food microbiology, quantitative microbial risk assessment, and modelling microbial responses in different matrices under varying environmental conditions and processing technologies. During her PhD she worked on the application of Bayesian inference to model the growth and inactivation of pathogenic bacteria in food in dynamic processing environments, taking Listeria monocytogenes and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli as examples. She received her Master's and Bacehor's in Biotechnology from KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar, India (2017).
