FJ (Fran) Tre Martinez, MSc

Fran is a PhD Candidate in the Bioprocess Engineering Group at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), specializing in the economic and environmental sustainability assessment of bioprocesses. His work involves methodologies such as Bioprocess Design, Techno-Economic Analysis, and Life Cycle Assessment. Currently, he is developing a techno-economic model for cellular agriculture, focusing on cultivated meat and seafood production.

Fran holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology (Environmental and Biobased Technology) from WUR, where he explored innovative processes to enhance environmental performance and economic viability. He also gained valuable experience at the Basque Centre for Climate Change in Spain, contributing to projects on sustainable resource management.
