In 2012 graduated from the HLO with a Bachelor in Molecular Plant Biology. After working 2 years on a voluntarily basis at the department of Plant Breeding of the Wageningen University to improve my knowledge and gaining more work experience in the field of molecular biology, I started working at Wageningen Plant Research in the Business Unit Bio-Interactions and Plant Health. Here I work with real-time PCR and developed TaqMan assays for the detection of diseases in plants like Bacillus thuringiensis serovar aizawai and bees (Nosema ceranae and Nosema apis). Next to that I work in different research projects regarding bees and have my own bee colony
