As experienced research and innovation project manager I set up and lead large projects, ranging from (European) granted cooperation projects to customer specific projects. To lead a team of professionals with different technical backgrounds and personal talents in achieving a common goal is my drive. I combine a strong result oriented approach with building a pleasant team work where people are committed, employ their skills and feel motivated to collaborate. My long term experience in innovation management together with my personal skills and technological education have been key elements in the development of my career. The focus of my projects in the last 15 years have been the quality of fruit and vegetables in the supply chain. I feel privileged that together with the Postharvest group of Wageningen Food and Biobased Research, we develop advanced postharvest technologies and learn about the quality of fruit and vegetables, contributing in this way to the increased consumption of these healthy and sustainable products. At the same time this knowledge is applied in cold chain development and postharvest interventions in less developed countries (LMIC) in the broad perspective of a food system approach. Contributing to achieve food and nutrition security worldwide is a strong personal motivation and leading projects in this area is particularly fulfilling. I have also worked several years in the packaging and potato processing research area. I hold a master's degree in food technology.
