ir. T (Toon) Wassenberg

Born in 1950 at a farm (cows, pigs, poultry, arable) in Boekel Netherlands, and after Gymnasium alpha and beta (1968), Toon Wassenberg studied at Wageningen University, graduated in 1975 in Food Technology. From 1975 - 1992 he was working in The Hague (Commodity Board for Meat and Livestock) and in Boxtel (Encebe), both as a director. He runned the farm of his parents from 1975 - 2018. From 1992 - 2018 he exploited a company in livestock trading and also for a couple of years in processing of mushroom-foods. In 2018 he retired, and began historical studies on the regions where his and his wifes families in Friesland and Brabant were active. In 2025 he started a PhD-study at Wageningen University on the governmental influence in North Western Europe on the industrialization of the pigmeatsector. 

Toon Wassenberg married in 1973 with Geiske de Vries, (entomologist),. Together they have three daugthers and seven grandchildren. They still live on the old farm, which is now exploited by the next generation.
