I obtained my Bachelors degree in Biology at Utrecht University, where I discovered my passion for understanding how plants interact with their environment. During my Masters in Plant Science at the WUR, I specialized in the interaction between plants, microbes and insects. Both in my MSc thesis and internship I explored how soil microbes around the roots can influence the plants defense against herbivorous insects.
Currently I am a PhD candidate at the FEM group. My project aims to study how arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the soil can help protect plants against soil-borne diseases, and how this is linked to plant species diversity in natural grasslands.
