Biografie
I am a Mexican biologist studying human-nature relationships with a particular interest in conservation and social-ecological systems. My research integrates diverse theoretical and methodological approaches to understand social-ecological dynamics within conservation settings across Mexico and Central America.
My PhD research focuses on how power dynamics shape decision-making processes in protected areas of the Mesoamerican region, and how these influence social-ecological outcomes, including equity, justice, and forest cover. Working closely with local actors, communities, and Indigenous peoples, I aim to co-produce governance strategies that address power imbalances, structural inequalities, and ecosystem degradation.
