I am highly interested in how anthropogenic activities alter the biosphere, changing the habitat conditions and finding solution for species to persist and to adapt under environmental changes. Being a part of OR ELSE, I ascertain how large-scale sand extraction leads to the creation of new habitat in the southern North Sea, dependent on flow, morphology, and sediment composition and how this determines the distribution of benthos and demersal fish in coherence with physiological, morphological, ecological and behavioral traits.
