K (Katarína) Smolenová

I am a researcher at the Horticulture and Product Physiology (HPP) group at Wageningen University. My main background is in 3D plant modelling. In my work, I combine simulation modelling and digital technologies to help understand plant development and growth. In particular, I develop functional-structural plant (FSP) models to simulate 3D architectural development and growth in plants in response to their environment. 

One of the example projects I was involved in aimed to create a tomato digital twin by linking a tomato FSP model with automatically collected phenotyping and climate data.
