MH (Marika) Nikkinen

I am an external PhD candidate at the Education and Learning Sciences chair group since the 15th of June 2025. I live in Finland and will be conducting my research remotely.  My research is focusing on sustainable leadership. The broad topic of my research will explore the types of leadership needed now and, in the future, to ensure we are taking care of the common good, and how the inner development of leaders impacts leadership. 

Currently, I work as a leadership lecturer at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland (www.laurea.fi). With over 10 years of experience as a leadership trainer and coach, my interest in this research is rooted in my professional background. Before my coaching career, I had worked for over 10 years in Nordic organizations in HR, sales, and leadership positions.
