mr. WFEM (Frans) Pingen

As from January 2017 Frans is the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Wageningen University & Research (WUR). DPO is an independent position at WUR.

Specialities: Corporate Governance, restructuring issues, M&A-deals. He was also involved from within the legal perspective in creating Europe’s largest wind turbine test site ACRRES-Lelystad in a partnership between WUR and Eneco. In 2015-2016 Frans was assisting in restructuring the Egyptian Agricultural Research Centre in Caïro.

Before Frans started at WUR he was a member of the Executive Board of the water company: Rivierenland. Portfolio: general administrative and legal matters; policy and management processes; reorganization all-in water company (water quantity and quality managerial integrated) and a member of the national steering committee: policy and management processes, water boards Netherlands: development of a model to a more uniform and transparent streamlining organizational processes within the water authorities.

Until the 25e of July 2024 Frans was the general cousel and compliance officer at WUR.
