Biografie
My field of research is agrobiodiversity and its multiple dimensions. I have worked and published on the in-situ conservation of crop genetic diversity, farmer-based seed systems and the role of species and varietal diversity in food systems. I have researched these issues in the Andean regions and Southeast Asia. I am interested in the relations between crop diversity and global change, including the conservation dynamics of landraces and crop wild relatives, the role of seed systems for socioecological resilience, and the role of agrobiodiversity in agroecology and nature-based solutions. I aim to combine theory and practice with links to academia and grassroots organizations through transdisciplinary approaches combining plant and social sciences.
