My name is Shannen Dill and I am a researcher nature based adaptation at Wageningen Environmental research. Whitin my research I mostly focus on the urban area. The changing climate is increasing the pressure on this dense and complex environment. There is a need for sustainable and nature-based solutions. The natural system is key towards an adaptive and robust approach. Improving knowledge on the interacting between soil, water and vegetation are key in tacking many urban challenges related to heat, biodiversity loss, floodings and droughts. During my research I combine geodata, field data and literature to get a broad understanding of the interactions within cities.
