In July 2023, the twelve provinces presented first versions of their provincial programs For the Dutch het Nationaal Programma Landelijk Gebied (National Program for the Rural Area) These programs were requested by the Ministries of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Infrastructure and Water Management and the Interior and Kingdom Relations. This report analyses the request from the ministries and the twelve provincial programs, focusing on the concept of environmental quality. This report contains recommendations for stimulating the environmental quality of the Dutch countryside. In addition, findings and incentives have been formulated per province.
