Field and laboratory research is conducted for the development of drift-reducing spraying techniques that lead to more efficient spraying and consequently less pesticides use. In the field active and passive measuring methods are used to study the efficacy of drift-reducing measures. Laboratory systems and equipment are used to analyse the collectors taken during the field research.

Spray boom movement is one of the parameters measured during field studies. Laboratory equipment is available to simulate these movements under controlled conditions. The equipment is used for assessing the biological efficacy of (biological) crop protection products.

PRI has expertise and experience about the setup of various experiments with application techniques, the execution of experiments with active and passive measuring methods, analysis of field-collected media, and interpretation of the obtained results in relationship with the conditions during application.
