In all cases you will need to apply for admittance and your application will be judged individually (enforced by Dutch law; there are a few exceptions for Wageningen University specific BSc programmes). For example, you may be admitted with a BSc in (Molecular) Biology or Biochemistry if you have a minor in chemistry. Such a minor consists of courses like molecular structure, spectroscopy, chemical thermodynamics or organic chemistry. But you will not be admitted if you followed a generic biology programme without extra chemistry courses. If your BSc is not included on the list, and you still think your BSc is relevant, please write us an email explaining your situation.

Examples of bachelor's degrees that will not qualify for admission to the MSc Molecular Life Sciences study programme include:

In most cases, fellowships are only granted after admission and depend on your study results to date. Most notable is the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP), which is aimed at talented people from the developing countries who are already employed. A few types of scholarships are made available through an organisation called Nuffic. They offer scholarship programmes to people from specific countries (e.g. Indonesia and Turkey). All scholarship programmes pertaining to your particular situation can be found using Most scholarships cover all costs related to your study as well as the basic living expenses. If you want to apply for a Nuffic scholarship, please mention this during your MSc application and contact the Dutch embassy in your home country.

Many international organisations such as the United Nations, the European Union, the World Bank, the regional development banks etc. and private foundations provide scholarships/fellowships for study abroad through special programmes or within the context of projects and loans. Please enquire at the offices of these organisations in your country/region or look at their websites.

Note: the HSP Huygens scholarship has been discontinued.

For non-EU students, visit the website for more information on study grants for non-EU students.
