What do you see in a work of art? And what do you notice when you listen to other people’s observations? During this session, philosopher of science Josette Jacobs guides the conversation using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS). By looking closely, sharing what you see and listening to one another, you discover more together.
The artwork will remain a surprise until the session. No prior knowledge of art is needed: just bring your curiosity.
After the discussion, Emmanuel Akwasi Adu-Ampong, Associate Professor of Cultural Geography at WUR, will share more about the artwork’s background and how it came into being. Together, we will connect our own observations with the story behind the work.
When: Tuesday 10 November 2026, 16.00–18.00
Where: Impulse, Stippeneng 2, Wageningen Campus
Language: Dutch, with English translation
Registration encouraged.
The journey from Dutch wool to textiles
A woollen jumper starts with a sheep. But what happens between shearing and wearing? During ‘From Sheep to Yarn’, we follow the journey from Dutch wool to textiles we can use and value.
From the flock and raw fibre to processing, colour and design: what steps are involved, which choices make a difference, and what challenges do makers face? This session brings together perspectives from practice, research and collaborative making.
There will be time for questions and conversation about the possibilities of Dutch wool.
When: Tuesday 24 November 2026, 16.00-18.00
Where: Impulse, Stippeneng 2, Wageningen Campus
Please register in advance. You are also welcome to join without registering, subject to available space.
