Series: Becoming Artificially Intelligent
The rise of AI presents us with radical opportunities, challenges, and choices. How we navigate these, both individually and as an academic community, shapes the future of what it means to be a student, an academic, and a university. This series investigates our academic relationships with AI and how these influence us and our choices. Why is AI so attractive? How do we make AI policy? And what are our personal academic relationships with AI actually like? Join us to examine and shape how we become artificially intelligent.

Your ‘Thing’ With AI
Love it or hate it, we all have to relate to artificial intelligence in our academic lives. What are these personal relationships actually like? How do they impact us? And how do we respond? Exploring this together with other students and academics can help us navigate the current AI wave, but its rapid pace, combined with factors like FOMO, polarisation, stigma, anthropomorphism and hype can make this challenging. Tonight, we talk about our personal academic relationships with AI in an open, interactive panel conversation.
The evening takes the shape of a moderated conversation between the panel members to which the audience is invited to contribute by sharing perspectives, questions and conversation points. Our panel consists of a WUR-student and three academics from WUR and beyond, each of whom have a unique academic relationship with AI.
