People of Genetics

Bas Zwaan is the chair of the Laboratory of Genetics. He has focused his research on ageing and lifespan, applying artificial selection and experimental evolution on multiple model species. Another focal point is evolutionary constraints. He has not only contributed to many research projects at Wageningen University & Research but has also cooperated in large-scale collaborative projects such as the Integrated research on DEvelopmental determinants of Aging and Longevity (IDEAL) project.
