Summer School Image Analysis for Plant Phenotyping

Are you looking for a complete overview of image analysis techniques for automatic plant phenotyping? The Summer School will provide a mixture of underlying theory and practical hands-on training. You will have the chance to work on actual plant image analysis issues. These problems will challenge you to use and merge the theory in practice.

Organised by Wageningen Academy

Mon 24 June 2024 until Fri 28 June 2024

Duration 5 days
Number of students 25 - 35
Price EUR 2,980.00
Price description This includes course materials, lunches, coffee/tea, refreshments and a welcome dinner. Reduced fee for PhD students: €1950.

Target audience

This Summer School is designed for two groups: researchers studying automatic phenotyping and technical experts in breeding companies. Both groups use or plan to use image analysis. If you have doubts about whether you belong to the target group or have enough relevant basic knowledge, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this programme, you will be able to:

  • Apply these techniques in daily practice in your experiments.
  • Explain the latest insights in imaging techniques applied to plant phenotyping.

The main topics that will be addressed are:

  • Image acquisition
  • Noise filtering
  • Segmentation and image shape features
  • Machine learning
  • Deep learning
