From entry level A1 to A1

For the intensive summer course Basic Dutch 2, you need prior knowledge of Dutch. If you have participated in Basic Dutch 1 or the intensive summer course Basic Dutch 1, you can start this course.

You can also start if you have previously studied Dutch elsewhere, for example, in your own country. Schedule an online intake via into@wur.nl so we can determine which level is suitable.

If German is your native language, we offer you the opportunity to start directly in Basic Dutch 2, provided you study Chapters 1 through 5 of the course book beforehand.

This course will help you reach language level A1. Read more about the language levels (CEFR).

Approach
You'll learn to communicate in Dutch. All skills are covered: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. We'll focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and Dutch customs and traditions. Reading and writing will be done largely through independent study.

What will the course cover?

After this course you can:

The course also focuses on Dutch pronunciation and interesting aspects of Dutch culture.

The teacher uses Dutch as much as possible during the course.
