Science-Industry platform: expedition cruise tourism

On 2 & 3 October, Machiel Lamers will co-organise a workshop for key researchers and industry representatives on the expedition cruise tourism in Svalbard. The aims of the workshop are to get an overview of recent and current research in the field of Svalbard expedition cruise ship tourism and an integrative perspective of the main challenges and knowledge gaps, to assess the knowledge needs of expedition cruise operators and what research projects could address these, to develop a joint research agenda and strategy for meeting these knowledge needs, and to establish a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing that could continue to benefit both researchers and the expedition cruise industry. The workshop is fully funded by the Svalbard Science Forum.
