Green climate solutions

Climate change and biodiversity loss are the defining challenges of our time. Their impacts are global, interconnected and rapidly intensifying — from floods and droughts to wildfires and habitat loss. Addressing these crises requires transformative, integrated action that strengthens both planetary and societal resilience.

At Wageningen University & Research, we combine climate science, ecology, technology and social innovation to co-create solutions that reduce emissions, restore ecosystems and enhance adaptive capacity. We work with governments, businesses, and communities to translate science into real-world climate action — from nature-based solutions and resilient food systems to circular water and energy use.

Our work goes beyond energy transition alone. We help shape system change in how we live, produce, and interact with nature — towards a world that is both climate-neutral and nature-positive within one generation.
