Introduction

Do you have a research question about your product or service for livestock farming, for example cattle, pigs or poultry? Our scientists can help you find answers. In the Carus building at Wageningen campus, we conduct research into the welfare and behaviour of farm animals, animal nutrition, digestion, emissions and climate.

What can you do at our livestock research facility?

Activities

We offer our livestock units for research questions concerning feed, animal welfare and climate change, in both practical and advanced conditions. In this way, we aim to contribute to healthy animals with high disease resistance, but also to understanding and controlling the effects of climate change on animal species such as dairy cattle, sows, fattening pigs and poultry.

This facility houses:

  • Climate and respiration chambers
  • Feed processing centre
  • Poultry unit
  • Pig unit
  • Dairy farming unit
