Then our one week Social Dutch intensive summer course is just the thing for you! This course is taught entirely online using the Virtual Classroom in Brightspace.
No prior knowledge of Dutch is needed for this online course. This course is suitable for students who want to learn Dutch for social purposes.
Basic Dutch 1: from A0 to A1- (CEFR)
After completing social dutch 1, you can register for Social Dutch 2.

You will learn how to introduce yourself, exchange personal information, order in cafés and restaurants, buy and pay in shops, make appointments, as well as forms of address, formal versus informal use of the language, information on transportation and typical Dutch culture. Grammar is secondary to speaking and vocabulary building. Only basic grammar will be treated, such as the main sentence structure and the conjugation of verbs in the present and past tense.
Prior to the course start participants will receive a short self-study package with preparatory exercises. All participants are expected to complete the exercises before the course start. This will take about one hour.
