Through the various named funds within University Fund Wageningen, we support talents, researchers and entrepreneurs of Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

Scholarships
The Anne van den Ban Fund makes scholarships possible for promising students from low-income countries so that they can enrol in a Master's programme at Wageningen University & Research. After graduating, they contribute to the sustainable development of their country. Students are selected through the university after admission and cannot apply for this scholarship on their own.
The Future Animal Nutrition Africa Fund (FANA) makes scholarships possible for African students to follow a master's programme at Wageningen University & Research in the field of animal nutrition. After graduating, the students contribute to the development of their country with their new knowledge about animal nutrition. The application for a scholarship from the FANA Fund goes through the Anne van den Ban Fund.
The Gijsbert Oomen Fund makes partial or full scholarships possible for students from Indonesia so that they can follow a Master's programme at Wageningen University & Research. These students will return to their country of origin after their education and can then contribute to their own environment in a positive way. The application for a scholarship from the Gijsbert Oomen Fund goes through the Anne van den Ban Fund.
The Paul Speijer Fund makes scholarships possible for African students so that they can follow a master's programme in Plant Sciences at Wageningen University & Research. Preference is given to students who work on a food crop in a local research institute. The application for a scholarship from the Paul Speijer Fund goes through the Anne van den Ban Fund.
The Pavlos Condellis Fund makes scholarships possible for Greek students so that they can follow a master's program at Wageningen University & Research. Students should have a focus on precision agriculture and solutions for climate-resilient agriculture. Preference will be given to students who have been admitted to the Master's programmes in Biosystems Engineering, Climate Studies and International Land and Water Management.
The Nico Buisman Fund provides partial scholarships to environmental technology students. The selection of candidates is done through the fund's initiators. Students cannot submit an application themselves.
The Van Rumpt Scholarship Fund makes scholarships possible for students in low-income countries who are following a relevant master's degree in agricultural mechanization, such as Biosystems Engineering or Plant Sciences. The application for a scholarship from the Van Rumpt Scholarship Fund goes through the Anne van den Ban Fund.
Support during the study
The Louise O. Fresco Fund supports current WUR students and PhD candidates of all disciplines and nationalities who still have a short period of time to complete their graduation or PhD. It must concern students who are in financial trouble due to special circumstances or force majeure situations. In addition, the fund supports academically educated refugees without status through the WURth-while project.
Every year, the Fund Niels Smith gives two young talented top athletes an extra 'push' to be able to combine his or her passion with their studies, if they receive no or limited support from other funds or NOC*NSF.
Development of young researchers
The Huub and Julienne Spiertz (HJS) Fund awards travel grants to PhD candidates and postdocs at Wageningen University & Research under the age of 35 in the field of agrobiology and crop science. The scholarship of up to €1,500 per year is intended for a study trip to a foreign university or research institute or a visit to a conference.
The Lucie Timmermans Fund supports young researchers at Wageningen University & Research in the field of animal biology in the specialisations: experimental zoology, animal cell biology, entomology and animal physiology. The fund offers support to make a study trip or to write a project proposal for a PhD to attract funding. Preference is given to female applicants, or someone who is otherwise part of a group that is under-represented in science.
The LEB Travel Fund stimulates developments in the research of Wageningen University & Research by providing financial support to PhD candidates and researchers up to the age of 35 for visits to scientific meetings, study trips and specific training courses.
Research Funds
The Middelhoven Fund offers funding for students and staff in the field of microbiology for an internship or a study trip abroad. This gives them the opportunity to work with the top in the field of microbiology.
The Rob Goldbach Fund offers financial support to students, researchers and (guest) staff who carry out special scientific research and teaching activities of the Chair of Virology at Wageningen University & Research. It also offers the chair group the opportunity to organise lectures and conferences on this subject, such as the biennial Rob Goldbach Lecture.
The Neys-van Hoogstraten Fund supports socio-economic research into household food security and nutritional security of vulnerable groups using a gender lens in a number of countries in Southeast Asia and South Asia. Preference is given to interdisciplinary research and research involving a research institute in the region. The fund provides financial support for research costs of master's students, PhD students and postdocs.
WUR and society
The KLV Fund provides financial support for one-off activities and new initiatives that help Wageningen alumni strengthen their knowledge and skills in the WUR domains. In this way, they can make a valued contribution to the development of expertise in education, research and policy-making in order to address important social issues.
The Marina van Damme Fund annually awards a scholarship to a female alumna to take a groundbreaking and/or cross-disciplinary step or turn in their career. The grant of €9,000 is intended for broadening knowledge in the form of a study at an accredited institution. Preference is given to alumnae of technical studies working in a technological environment.
This fund is filled by the Wageningen Ambassadors donation circle: a group of prominent WUR alumni who want to use their network, experience and financial resources to build a bridge between WUR and society. The Ambassadors contribute to topics that are relevant, topical and urgent for WUR. The members decide for themselves which projects they start or support.
