dr. JD (Juventia) Stella
Biografie
Stella Juventia is a postdoctoral researcher at the Farming Systems Ecology group (FSE) at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), the Netherlands, working on producing actionable knowledge on regenerative, more diversified farming systems. She is currently involved in the NWO's ReGeNL project, whose aim is to transition with 1000 farmers in the Netherlands towards regenerative agriculture. Specifically, she contributes to the Action Line 3B, connecting experimental field observations and models-assisted design framework. Previously in her PhD research (2020-2024), she worked in the intersection between generic and practical knowledge in designing crop diversification strategies – in particular strip cropping (strokenteelt) – in the Netherlands.
In 2017 she was awarded the Studeren in Nederland (StuNed) scholarship to pursue an MSc degree at WUR, graduating with cum laude in 2019. Prior to that, she pursued a BSc degree at Nagoya University, Japan with the MEXT scholarship offered by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Besides working on her research, Stella contributes to the Lighthouse Farm Academy, an education program to equip food systems professionals with knowledge and tools in contributing to the food system transition through their roles in the value chain.
