Bart Lagerwaard defended his thesis successfully
On Friday March 12th Bart defended his thesis "Muscle Mitochondrial Health. Ageing, Physical Activity and Molecular Mechanisms".
Bart studied how to prevent age-related decline in muscle mass and function, with a specific emphasis on the role of the mitochondria Bart took a multi-discplinary approach using both non-invasive technologies to study human muscle mitochondrial function as well as (epi)genetic analysis of cellular models and human muscle biopts.
