Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (WBVR) is part of Wageningen University & Research. We are an independent research institute and as a contract research organization (CRO) we provide effective solutions to issues faced by public and private clients.

Preclinical and clinical studies

Our mission is to contribute to welfare and prosperity by safeguarding animal and public health through the prevention and control of infectious diseases. We do this by offering excellent possibilities for clinical and preclinical studies as well as for innovative research and development trajectories.

WBVR has a lot of experience with exotic viruses, which combines well with our expertise in developing and producing animal vaccines.

Host-pathogen interactions

We create innovations at the forefront of applied science in the field of host pathogen interactions. Due to our state-of-the-art, biosecure, high-containment facilities, we can realise laboratory and animal studies on highly contagious pathogens. Our research focus is disease prevention via vaccination, early warning systems including diagnostics and increasing the natural disease resistance of animals.
