Education of Soil Geography and Landscape

We aim to educate responsible change-makers by stimulating students to understand soil and landscape systems in a spatial and temporal context. To achieve this, we often take students out to the field so they can experience soils and landscapes themselves. In many courses later in the curriculum we combine this with quantitative approaches, often including modelling in a spatial and temporal context or laboratory analyses.
We take responsibility for a broad range of BSc and MSc courses in several environmental science programs, many of these courses contribute to the Earth System Sciences program (BSW BSc Soil Water Atmosphere and MEE MSc Earth and Environment). As a chairgroup we are responsible for the MEE D specialization ‘Soil Geography and Earth Surface Dynamics’, and offer thesis opportunities for MSc students in this specialisation.
BSc thesis
Earth System Sciences BSc thesis topics "The Bachelor Thesis Soil, Water, Atmosphere is the final step towards your BSc graduation. We offer a wide range of topics for your BSc thesis. For most general questions please see the BSc thesis course guide. For more specific questions you can contact Julian Helfenstein.
MSc thesis
Earth System Sciences MSc thesis topics "Within the MSc Earth and Environment track D Soil Geography and Earth Surface Dynamics we also offer a wide range of Master Thesis topics, often related to our research themes and PhD projects. Please check the job teaser site for a first impression of possible topics (through Student Career Services). For general questions please see the MSc thesis course guide link. Your intake and other more specific questions can be answered by Liz Chamberlain.
