As a starter on the labour market, you have a lot of choices to make. Therefore, it is important to get to know your options. What kind of positions are there? Do I want to work at a big company, or small start-up? Should I start with a traineeship, or go directly for a job in a starting position? The sum of all these questions is: What suits me best? Here, we provide you with several options to find out what kind of career would suit you.
Attend career events
We offer several career events like trainings and events with employers that help you to find our which career suits you. Among other things, our career events help you explore your wishes and talents.
Interested in doing a PhD?
Interested in research? Do you want to stay in academia? Are you curiosity driven and want to contribute to academic knowledge that can be used to tackle world challenges? Are you keen to show that you can do this in an independent manner? If so, a PhD might be a good step in your career!
Learn about different types of vacancies and organisations
Exploring different vacancies can help you find out what you like about positions and which positions might not be a fit with you. Look for keywords in these vacancies and note those that you get enthusiastic about. Also, pay attention to the organisations behind the vacancies. Get informed about what they do and what their goals are.

LinkedIn group: WUR students/graduates and employers meet and match
Student Career Services has created a LinkedIn group to actively promote WUR students and alumni who are searching for a job or internship at this moment. You have the opportunity to pitch yourself for a job or an internship. Employers can reach out to you within this group. Everybody who is related to WUR and actively searching for an internship or job is welcome to join.
