Intensive summer course Intermediate Dutch 1
Target group
The course is for international employees, PhD candidates or expats who already have some prior knowledge of Dutch and who want to learn Dutch for social purposes on and outside their workplace.

Entry level: A1 (CEFR)
Level on completion: Halfway to A2 (CEFR)
Course content
The main goal of this course is to learn to communicate in Dutch in simple, everyday situations. Once you have completed the course, you will be able to:
- describe a city, village or landscape;
- talk about the weather and means of trandsport;
- talk about what you do during the holidays;
- make suggestions and tell someone what to do;
- write an informal email;
- ask for and give directions;
- describe and evaluate food and understand a recipe;
- specify quantities;
- talk about your house and furniture;
- compare things and name forms.
The lecturer will speak Dutch as much as possible during the course. Grammar is always discussed in a communicative context and in functional situations. This course will also cover Dutch pronunciation and interesting aspects of Dutch culture.
Admission requirements
For this course you need prior knowledge of Dutch. You can sign up for this course, if you have participated in Basic Dutch 2 or the Intensive summer course Basic Dutch 2.

Certification
After the course you will receive a certificate from Wageningen in’to Languages, provided you have attended at least 80% of the classes. Would you like to continue improving your Dutch language skills? It is possible to proceed into Intermediate Dutch 2.
