Wageningen@Sea facilities opened in CARUS
Ernst van den Ende and Menno van Manen have officially opened a new research facility in Carus: The Wageningen@Sea labs of chair group MAE. This new facility consists of the Indo-Pacific Lab, where NLAS sensors are used to better understand how and why corals bleach in this era of rapid climate change. There is a Caribbean Lab, where Golf Ball corals are sexually reproduced to ultimately grow super corals which thrive under future climate conditions. And there is a North Sea Lab, where sharks, rays and invertebrates are studied using state-of-the-art NLAS sensors.
