ATP testing and research for conditioned transport equipment

The benefits
In short- ATP tests for single- and multi-compartment equipment
- Measurement of insulation value and refrigeration capacity
- Supplementary research into transport climate and energy use
- Testing in conditioned chambers or monitoring during actual shipments
- Accredited with the NEN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard
Test conditioned transport equipment for ATP certification and improve temperature control, energy performance and product conditions during transport.
About ATP testing and transport research
Conditioned transport equipment must maintain the required climate for perishable foods, medicines, flowers and other sensitive products. Wageningen University & Research tests how well this equipment insulates and cools under controlled conditions.
Available ATP tests are K-value tests for insulation, refrigeration-capacity tests for single- and multi-compartment equipment.
The resulting test report can be used to apply for an ATP certificate from a qualified institution in the EU. If your question goes beyond certification, we can also investigate temperature uniformity, energy consumption, controlled-atmosphere performance, humidity control and defrosting. Tests can be conducted in our conditioned test chambers or through monitoring during actual transport by road, rail, sea or air, including last-mile delivery. The research helps identify practical improvements to transport conditions and energy performance.

Our laboratory is accredited in accordance with the NEN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA)
