When can you go to the Science Shop?

The WUR Science Shop helps civil society organizations, NGOs or social enterprises. Check out some examples of research questions that the Science Shop has worked on in the past years:

Examples of past Science Shop research questions (in Dutch)

  • What are the health risks for residents and residents of a goat farm?
  • What role do religious orders (especially the Dominican monastery in Zwolle) see for themselves in promoting agro-ecological agriculture?
  • What are the results of the nutrition and exercise interventions of BGN weight consultants?
  • Are small-scale meat and dairy producers sufficiently considered in current legislation and regulations for food safety, animal welfare and animal health monitoring?
  • What concrete advice can the SDS give parents of children with Down syndrome regarding nutritional supplements?
  • Which criteria and preconditions are important for determining promising locations for the greening of Amsterdam?

Requirements for collaboration:

  • The application comes from a group or organization that itself does not have the resources to fund the research. An individual's question is not eligible for examination;
  • The research question lies in the knowledge field of Wageningen University & Research;
  • The organization or group actively participates in the research project and provides a delegate to the committee of Project Advisors;
  • The organization or group is willing and able to apply the results of the research;
  • The research question can be broadened to a general social question and the results can be used for other organizations with similar questions;
  • The organization or group agrees to make the research results public.
