How to apply

Depending on your nationality, your organiation and the type of course you wish to join at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, your eligibility and the application procedures may differ.

Start with applying for a short course

Please register for a course of your interest on the course website by clicking the 'Apply here' button via the course website.

  • Fill out the required fields on the form
  • Check your information on the final page, before you submit
  • After submitting, you will receive a confirmation email. Click the link in the email to confirm your registration. Without your confirmation, your registration cannot be processed.
  • Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation will review your application, and send you the admission letter within 3 working days.

Fund your participation

There are several options to fund your participation in our short courses.

Funded through a fellowship

The Netherlands government Ministry of Foreign Affairs has initiated different fellowship programmes. For short courses, the most common programmes are OKP, MSP and StuNed. Depending on your nationality and eligibility, you can apply for one of these fellowships. Detailed information can be found under 'Fellowship information'.

If applicable, Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation will send you the admission letter with instructions on how to apply for one of these fellowships.

Funded by self paying participant, organisation or project

If you already have funding to finance your participation in the short course, please mention the name of your sponsor on your application. Please also send a letter of confirmation of your sponsorship by the sponsering organisation to training.cdi@wur.nl 

After the course coordinator has reviewed your application and accepted you to the course, you will receive an acceptance letter with payment details and an invoice (if required). The application deadline is depending on VISA application procedures. In general 3 weeks is the minimum, but in some cases it can take up to 6 weeks. It's important to keep this in mind before you apply for the short course.

Prepare for the course, some practical matters

After you have been admitted to the course and the payment or scholarship has been confirmed, there are a few practical matters that need attention:

VISA

Nationals from certain countries need a VISA to enter the country where the course will be held. Depending on the Embassy VISA application takes a minimum of two weeks. You will be informed about the procedures by Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation in a timely matter. Housing and insurance

Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation will arrange accommodation for all course participants during the course on basis of full board and lodging. For OKP, MSP, StuNed or ITTO participants, the costs for accommodation will be covered by the fellowship. Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation will also arrange a health insurance for participants during the course. The costs for health insurance are covered by the fellowship.

For self paying participants, the costs for accommodation and health insurance will be invoiced.

Travel

For participants with and OKP, MSP, StuNed or ITTO scholarship, Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation will book the flight tickets. The costs for international travel will be covered by the scholarship. Self paying participants are expected to arrange their own flight and are expected to arrive at least 1 day before the start of the course.
